The X-HiPRO 548 is a light, compact heavyweight remote-controlled crane – one of HIAB's 'Big Five' – but it is no lightweight. Its huge 9.9- tonne (9900 kg) capacity ensures the X-HiPRO 548 truck-mounted crane lifts heavy, bulky loads in close – quickly, safely, smoothly and powerfully – no matter how tough the conditions. An E-link boom system takes that enormous capacity to the maximum in high-boom, close to the column positions.

Cranes work in challenging situations where operator error can be critical, and stability is crucial. The HIAB X-HiPRO 548 integrates features into the design with the operator, and the payload, in mind. Easy-tilt auxiliary legs are integrated into the hydraulic and electronic systems for critical support and control. They work with the crane's Load Stability System (LSS), which automatically senses and counteracts abrupt stops that cause the load to swing, with no action required by the operator. The available VSL+ safety system can maximize stability even more. It automatically senses and adjusts the crane capacity to leg positions and the truck's total weight.

And the perfect weight-to-capacity ratio makes the X-HiPRO 548 a dynamo on mining sites and other tough jobs where huge, heavy loads are commonplace. It’s designed to reduce delivery and installation times so that you can do more – faster. A 9-metre chain-driven stabilizer ensures the best possible rigidity in any possible position. It doubles speed and halves extension time, so set-up and stowing times are quicker and easier. A new base-mounted oil tank makes installation, access and maintenance easy too. And the V200 valve delivers much higher oil flows, lower oil temperatures, less wear and tear, fewer emissions and maximum speed.

The X-HiPRO 548 operates on HiPRO – the industry's most advanced remote control system. The XSDrive™ system sports a built-in intelligence system for precise load handling. With the touch of a lever or the available joystick, your crane responds to more than 30 different functions, many simultaneously. In addition to capacity-increasing Automatic Speed Control (ASC), the X-HiPro 548 features Pump Flow Distribution (PFD), so it has no sudden and unanticipated load accelerations – just smooth performance.
